Privacy Policy
The short version: your clipboard belongs to you. Here is the long version, in plain language.

1. Introduction
LexaClip ("we", "our") is a browser extension developed by Lumerexa that recognizes the type of text you copy and offers one-click transformations, AI rewrites and productivity tools. This policy explains what data LexaClip touches, where that data lives, and the choices you have. It applies to the LexaClip extension and the lexaclip.lumerexa.com website.
Our guiding principle is local-first: everything that can stay on your device does stay on your device.
2. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive and store the email address and display name of your Google account, together with your plan (Free or Pro) and account status. We never see your Google password, contacts or any other Google data.
AI request content. When you press an AI action, the selected text is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, forwarded to our AI provider to generate the result, and returned to you. This content is processed transiently: we do not store the text of AI requests or responses on our servers.
Usage counters. To enforce daily limits on the Free plan, we keep a per-day counter of how many AI actions your account used — a number only, never the content.
Cloud Sync data (optional, Pro). If you press "Sync now", your favorites and saved prompts are stored on our server so your browsers stay in sync, and become visible to you in your account dashboard. Your clipboard history is included only if you additionally enable the "Include history in sync" setting, which is off by default. Sync never runs automatically without that action. You can delete individual synced items from the dashboard at any time, and deleting your account removes all of them.
3. What Stays on Your Device
- Your clipboard history, favorites, prompts, snippets, statistics and settings are stored in your browser's local storage. They are not transmitted to us unless you explicitly press "Sync now" (a Pro feature), which uploads your favorites and prompts — and your recent clipboard history only if you have turned on the optional "Include history in sync" setting (off by default).
- Copies made in password fields are never captured — the extension explicitly skips them.
- Sites you add to the "Excluded sites" list are completely invisible to LexaClip: no capture, no toast, no toolbar.
- Clearing your history, or uninstalling the extension, removes this local data permanently.
4. What We Never Collect
- We do not track your browsing history or read page content beyond the text you copy or select.
- We do not embed analytics, advertising or fingerprinting trackers in the extension or on this website.
- We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes — ever.
- We do not collect payment card details; if paid checkout is offered, it is handled entirely by the payment provider.
5. Browser Permissions, Explained
Chrome asks you to grant LexaClip several permissions. Here is exactly why each one is needed:

6. Third-Party Services
Google Sign-In. Used only for authentication. Google's own privacy policy governs the sign-in step.
AI provider (OpenRouter). AI actions are routed through our server to OpenRouter, which forwards them to the model you selected (for example Claude, GPT or Gemini). The text of your request is shared with that provider solely to generate your result. We do not allow providers to use your content for advertising.
Hosting. Our website and API run on servers operated for Lumerexa. Account records are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
- Account records are kept while your account is active.
- AI request content is not retained after your result is delivered.
- Daily usage counters are meaningful only for the current day.
- You can delete synced data by clearing favorites/prompts and syncing again, and you can request full deletion of your account data at any time via the contact address below. We complete deletion requests within 30 days.
8. Security
All traffic between the extension, our website and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. API keys for AI providers are stored only on our servers — never inside the extension. Access to production systems is limited to the operator of the service.
9. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and similar laws), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Since almost all LexaClip data lives on your own device, most of these controls are directly in your hands — for anything server-side, one email to us is enough.
10. Children's Privacy
LexaClip is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of LexaClip after a change means you accept the updated policy.
